The Rev. Loretta Collins

Loretta Collins was raised in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.  She received academic degrees from Eastern Mennonite College and The Catholic University of America.  Prior to ordination she worked in the public schools as a school psychologist.   She resides in Harrisburg with her husband, the Rev. Patrick A. Collins, Transition Officer for the Diocese.

Loretta was ordained to the vocational deaconate by Bishop Nathan Baxter in 2010. She served at St. Mark’s, Lewistown and most recently at St. Paul’s Harrisburg.   While serving at these two congregations she was the chair of Jubilee Ministries, working with lay leaders in environmental stewardship, ministries to older adults, a food bank and the serving of community dinners. She also coordinated and organized visitations to home bound parishioners. Loretta was trained as a Title IV intake interviewer and is currently a member of the Diocesan Disciplinary Board.  She is also a trainer for Safeguarding God’s Children.  She assisted in coordinating our diocesan relief effort for the victims of Hurricane Sandy.  Last year she was appointed as Jubilee Officer for the Diocese.
