Old Testament
Callie Plunket-Brewton holds a Ph.D. in Old Testament Studies as well as a Masters of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary. Her undergraduate degree is from Texas Tech University and is a B.A. in Latin.
Callie teaches a variety of courses for both the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama as well as the University of North Alabama. She’s taught Old Testament as well as New Testament courses and courses in ancient Near Eastern history. Her primary area of research is in biblical Hebrew poetry, especially in the prophets.
Callie was ordained a priest in the Episcopal Church in 2011 and works as an associate minister at Trinity Episcopal Church in Florence, Alabama. She’s married to Vince Brewton, who is the dean of the Honors College at the University of North Alabama. They have three children: Merrie Margaret (14 yrs), Alec (12 yrs), and Patrick (9 yrs). She loves the outdoors, reading, tending to her children and dogs, and drinking lots and lots of coffee.
