How do I enroll in Safeguarding training?

What is Safeguarding God’s Children and Safeguarding God’s People?

The Safeguarding God’s Children & Safeguarding God’s People courses teach how exploitation and harassment occur, and the awareness we need to prevent such occurrences. It also teaches us how to respond, should an incident of exploitation or harassment occur. Safeguarding God’s Children is a training program for the prevention of sexual abuse of children and youth. Safeguarding God’s People is a training program for the prevention of sexual abuse of adults.

From Bishop Scanlan, “The Episcopal Church has developed “Safeguarding” programs to equip us to care for those among us who are more vulnerable. Children and the Aged are especially vulnerable and we are charged to care for them in ways that protect them from neglect, exploitation, abuse, and harm.”
