This course provides a general introduction to preaching in an Episcopal church. It is designed to enable students to construct a sermon/homily rooted in a deep examination of biblical texts. For this reason at least a year of scriptural studies is a pre-requisite for this course.
Student opportunities to preach and have recorded efforts critiqued by peers and by the instructor are an essential part of this course.
Scholarship funds to help you pay for this course are available if you can demonstrate need and if you are a member of a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Central PA. For information on scholarships please contact the Dean.
This course will be conducted weekly on Zoom. A link for the Zoom classes will be made available to you before the course begins. Class materials and activities will be available on Populi. Registration on this website for the course will also register you on the Populi website. You will be invoiced $300 plus a once per term $75 technology fee after our two-week drop/add period has closed.
