This course is an introduction to the historical, literary, and theological study of the prophetic writings of the Old Testament. We will explore the prophets’ messages to the people of Ancient Israel in response to the historical, cultural, and political events of their time and discuss the ways their depiction of God’s desire for justice, healing, and wholeness for all of creation can guide Christian life, ministry, and imagination today.
