This course is the foundational course in Christian theology. Starting from the central experience of God in prayer and worship, we explore what it means to know the Triune God in the light of Scripture, the ecumenical councils, contemporary theology, and our Anglican heritage. We will discuss throughout the course what it means for a priest to be a theologian, one who is charged with teaching, as well as pastoring and administering the sacraments. We focus on the importance of theology in our life together, and discuss ways that you can encourage theological reflection in your ministries. The second half of the course is focused on Anglican ecclesiology in particular.
Scholarship funds to help you pay for this course are available if you can demonstrate need and if you are a member of a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Central PA. For information on scholarships please contact the Dean.
