The music and hymns of Advent are hauntingly beautiful. In these four sessions, we’ll explore the history, theology and scripture so embedded within these lyrics and tunes.
- Nov. 29: “Lo, he comes with Clouds Descending”: Charles Wesley, the Book of Daniel, and the Little Apocalypse
- Dec. 6: “Comfort, Comfort ye my people”: God Singing Through the Prophets
- Dec. 13: “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel”: Latin Hymns from 500-900 that We’re Still Singing
- Dec. 20: “Most Highly Favored Lady”: Hymns of Angels and the Annunciation
This four-week course, taught by the Rev. Becky Hartman, will be offered via Zoom on Wednesdays, 12-1pm EST, beginning November 29 and ending December 20
