Workshop Opportunities

1:00 PM to 3:30 PM May 11th Workshop #1 Handling Anxiety- Led by the Rev. Shawn Strout

One of the most difficult aspects of parish ministry is handling anxiety.  Studies have shown that clergy are more susceptible to anxiety and depression than most other professions. This session will discuss ways to handle anxiety in three key areas: personally, interpersonally, and systemically. Much of the information presented will be based on the marriage and family counselor Edwin Friedman’s seminal work.

12:45-3:30 May 12th Workshop #2 Addiction and the Christian Origins of the 12 Step Program- led by The Rev. Canon Jay Geisler

What the participant will experience:

  1. Understanding Addiction
  2. The Origins of the 12 Step Program
  3. Building a Bridge between the People of the Pews and the People of the Program

The cost for the entire weekend is $150.  If you would like to come to just one of the workshops, the cost will be $35, which will include one meal.

If you need a scholarship or have already applied for a scholarship for the year, please email Shawn (sstrout@diocesecpa.org) for a promotion code before you register.
