“Welcome the Stranger” Immigration Clinic

August 17 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Free

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me. —Matthew 25:35

Diocesan Immigration Ministry Resources invites parishes to attend the “Welcome The Stranger” immigration clinic on Sunday, August 17, from 2-4pm at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Cathedral (221 N. Front St. in Harrisburg) to learn about actions parishes should take when confronting arrest warrants.

Compass Immigration Legal Services will present essential information on:

  • different immigrant statuses, situations, and issues
  • how to respond to ICE encounters
  • knowing your rights
  • what churches can do

Local resettlement agency Church World Service will provide information about how the federal funding cuts have resulted in changes to their programs, the type of clients they serve, and more. They will provide easy options for people to help their clients and advocate for their needs.

There will be time for Q&A after the presentations.

Event admission and parking are both free.

Contact Gerry Garber with any questions.
