Sun Day Philly

On Sunday, September 21st from 11-3, Love Park (15th & JFK Parkway, Philadelphia) will be the site of a celebration of all things solar and an opportunity for people to make a statement to their legislators about the need for this clean, inexhaustible energy source.

Sun Day Philly is but one of hundreds of “Sun Day” events being held around the country: all free, family-friendly and open to the public. President Jimmy Carter established the first “Sun Day,” and the event’s purpose–to educate and engage the public on the need for the widespread adoption of solar energy–couldn’t be be more relevant to a planet on the brink. Highlights will include live music, solar-powered music, solar art projects (and teachers’ kits), solar model car races, face painting and more. Event sponsors are Third Act PA, Philadelphia Solar Energy Association and the Sierra Club.
