Trail to Truth
Pilgrimage for Racial Reconciliation
October 11-14
Five youth and two adult leaders will participate in the Pilgrimage and join youth from Province III for a bus trip from Washington, D.C. to Philadelphia, PA. Along the way, the youth and leaders will visit historical sites, hear from leaders in the church, learn about racial inequality, and become a part of the Beloved Community.

National Acolyte Festival

Diocesan Convention
October 18 & 19

We are excited for a youth presence at Convention! Doors open at 2:00 pm on October 18th. Youth will be able to participate in a number of exciting activities this year.
The youth will:
1)     Learn about the importance of Diocesan Convention and gather with other youth
2)     Meet with the Bishop
3)     Engage in conversations around diocesan resolutions and serve in leadership with the children’s program
4)     Enjoy a lock-in and pizza party

Youth Winter Retreat:
The Warmth of God’s Love
November 22-24

“If the warmth of God’s love is flowing into our souls, then it flows out in our smile, our ears, our hands, our brains, and our voice to bless other people.”
All middle and high school youth are invited to attend and bring friends. Youth leadership is a key part of the Winter Retreat Weekend.
The weekend is developed as a welcoming, friendly environment where faith and community grow. We learn about prayer and caring and service for others as we prepare for Advent. Everyone in grades 6-12 is welcome to attend!
Drop off is Friday, November 22 from 7:00 – 8:00 pm, and pick-up is Sunday, November 24 at noon.

Sacred Stories
If you have not had training in the last two years, come and refresh with new possibilities as we engage the sacred story. Our Trainer, Dawn Stewart, has taught Godly Play for over 20 years, and she is teaching in a Godly Play classroom in the Diocese of Central PA. Dawn will lead us all to come closer to God through wonder, prayer, storytelling, and liturgical acts.

Youth looking for a volunteer opportunity? For our December Bishop Out of the Box, we are hosting a live nativity, and we need volunteers. Earn community service hours dressed as a shepherd, Mary or Joseph, or singing as an angel.

Youth Leadership Planning Weekend
to Prepare for Happening
Youth leadership is a key feature of the Happening program. The entire weekend is led “by youth, for youth” with adult supervision and guidance.
This is the gathering where we plan the retreat.

Additional Youth Leadership Training Days
February 1st and May 23rd, 2020
Due to the success of the previous training, we will offer two additional training days in 2020. The first will be on February 1st in Harrisburg, and the second will be on May 23rd in Lancaster.
Open to young adults, youth leadership, clergy, and Sunday school teachers, this training offers:
• strategies for youth recruitment
• preparations for Episcopal Youth Event (EYE)
• 1.5 hrs of Youth Ministry Leadership continuing ed

Happening #13
February 14-16, 2020
Camp Mount Luther
Happening is open to grades 9 – 12. You will have the opportunity to talk about God in your daily life with your peers, the people who will be experiencing the same event with you. Happening is truly an event designed with you and your faith in mind!
No matter who you are, where you come from, or what your favorite cereal happens to be, you are welcome with open arms.
