Education for Ministry (EfM) Groups Now Forming for September

Are you looking to deepen your faith? Do you want to know more about the Bible, Christian tradition, and Church history? Are you hoping to understand how your personal experiences and beliefs bring you closer to God and God’s people?

If the answer is yes, Education for Ministry (EfM) may be for you.

EfM is a Christian formation program designed for lay persons by the School of Theology, University of the South, at Sewanee in Tennessee. Through study, prayer, worship, and reflection, EfM seminars meet online or on-site to journey together through scripture, Church history, and theology. As insights are discovered, group members strive to apply them to their lives and ministries.

Beginning this year, EfM offers two tracks.

  • EfM:Classic: This four-year program focuses on the Old Testament in Year 1; the New Testament in Year 2; Christian History in Year 3; and Christian Ethics and Spirituality in Year 4.
  • EfM: Wide Angle: This new one-year overview is for those whose busy schedules don’t allow four years of study. In it, learners can “dip a toe” into the subjects covered in the four Classic years.

The theme for 2025-26 is The Journey With God.
