The St. John’s Carlisle Youth Investment Club offers instruction in the stock market to high school students, and every spring they donate their profits to local charities. This week they met with the Executive Directors of the Employment Skills Center and Bethany House and decided to donate $3500 to each charity.
The ESC will use the money as scholarships for three students in their EMT course. Bethany House provides a resource center and residence for teen age girls who are aging out of the foster care system when they turn 18. They will use their donation to provide driver training so these girls can get drivers’ licenses to help them get employment. Both executive directors will come to St. John’s on June 2, 2024 to pick up their checks in the parish hall between the two services. For more infor, contact Mike Cross at 717-249-7677.
